I for one always believed & practiced that we are mainly responsible in our own well being (one self & direct dependents ) - - all others reasons have lesser importance.

We were discussing about lord Ram who I really respect for
his righteousness he is one of greatest god in Hindu mythology .I don’t want to be discourteous but in course this discussion on whether all of Ram actions were fully justified or were they suspect.

Ram renounced the throne & worldly goodies or the sake of his dad Dashrath’s promise, that was a great enough sacrifice so hats off to him.

But is the action of cruelly dispatching his dearest wife Sita in the dreaded jungle just because some silly dhobi remark really justified! ! !

Well I find it rather unfair especially in light that Sita had already passed the fire test - - -“Agni pariksha” , she had done a hugh sacrifice by going with husband Ram for the vanwas.

Now I am going to leave this blog here with a big

Going to school ! ! !

Going to school - - -

Every time I go to school I learn something, this is one reason that I make it a point to go to little Mangesh’s school every Saturday.

I was strolling across the school ground just before the first bell and the loud speaker started to sing the National anthem – “ Jana Gana Maana - - - “ , I continued to walk but this little fella of mine held his ground and scolded me ! ! !

“ Stop dad stop ! ! ! It is the National Anthem remember”

Both of us are from the same great institution, but the younger chap learns better I guess ! ! !

- - - Seems to be the ‘In thing’ but is not , it has been practiced beautifully & successfully by Kaushalya ( Mother of Lord Rama ) , Devaki ( Mother of lord Krishna ) , Jeeja mata ( Mother of Raja Shivaji ) , Mother Mary ( Mother of Jesus Christ ) , Putlibai ( Mother of Gandhiji ) , Maya ( Mother of Gautam Buddha ), Kunda ( Mother of yours truly )

Like all these gracious parents, I too would like to be a worthy parent and do exercise my right and might to keep my little one in line. It is a tight rope walk one knows , a mixture of stressed vocal cords , pure logic , fear , cajoling , a ice cream here and a belting there.

Now we all know that the children are bolder now a days, they have their own unbeatable logic , logic so good that I had to eat humble pie in coping with it and here goes how - - -

I have always complained that my son has no focus and lack concentration, so I had a habit of reminding him the story of Arjuna and the parrots eye - - - The habit finally broke when this little fellow , looked into my eye and calmly told me - - -

“ Dad you have told me the story a hundred times and I have understood the story a hundred times - - - but then what the hell - - - I simply don’t want to practice it “,

I had no options but to walk away and save face wondering who is parenting whom
